Sanguen Health Centre has been playing an important role to combat accidental overdose deaths in Waterloo Region, even as the overdose crisis continues to grow.

Since August 2023, the center has been utilizing a drug testing machine, coupled with its existing Consumption and Treatment Services (CTS) established in October 2019.

On Feb. 10, 2024, downtown Oakville became a site of Palestinian solidarity. Organized by @oakville4palestine, the protest signified an overwhelming call for the Canadian government to take action and stop Israel's attacks on Gaza and Palestine.
